Assuming that the person who got rid of the painting honestly didn't want it (and that it wasn't stolen), it's a pretty terrific way to make a donation to Goodwill. The organization will end up receiving the money from the sale of the portrait and will be able to provide more resources to those in need in the community. A lot of people are benefiting from the previous owner's "junk." A terrific tale! I find the story to be wonderful, actually!
